From 2006-2016 EMDAA hosted Parade of Portugal: A celebration of dog breeds from Portugal in the United States, sponsored by the EMDAA and its members. This event featured Portuguese judges brought in to ensure the morphological type of Portuguese dog breeds

Emdaa member accomplishments

EMDAA member dogs were the first to become the champion Estrela Mountain Dog in the USA, the first Grand Champion Estrela Mountain Dog, the first Estrela Mountain Dogs to get top 10, the first Estrela Mountain Dogs to attain their Canine Good Citizen Awards and the first to become a Certified Therapy Dog. They were also the first to participate in AKC and UKC events and collaborated with Portuguese and American judges in exhibitions.
